New Cameras and AI Features Introduced in Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Launch

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series has been unveiled in New York on Wednesday and, as expected, there are three models in the flagship range again. The Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra are some of the most important phones this year, and we’re excited to see how the new AI features work and drive these phones in the coming months. Samsung has again opted for a two-chipset strategy, using the Exynos 2400 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for different versions.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series price

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series starts at $799 (roughly Rs. 64,500) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The highest version has 512 GB. The Galaxy S24 Plus is priced at $999 (Rs 82,500 approx) for the 12GB + 256GB base model. And finally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra this year starts at $1,300 (roughly Rs. 1,05,000), which gets you the 12GB + 256GB model. Samsung Galaxy S24 series specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus have a 6.2-inch FHD+ and QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Both phones are powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Samsung is offering Android 14-based One UI 6.1 with the two phones. The company has also confirmed that starting with the Galaxy S24 series, buyers will get seven years of OS updates and security updates, as Google announced last year with the Pixel 8 series.

On the imaging front, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus feature a triple rear camera system that gives you a 50-megapixel primary wide sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. The front of the phone has a 12-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls. The other big changes are in the battery department, where the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus have 4,000mAh and 4,900mAh batteries, respectively, offering 25W and 45W wired charging speeds. In case you’re wondering, they also get wireless charging support.

As for the big fish that is the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung is clearly focusing on this model with the latest hardware and yes, AI features like live translation, chat assistance, Android Auto with Samsung keyboard and Note assistant. It also gets a titanium body this year, which should help improve durability alongside the available IP68 rating.

The phone has a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED screen with an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage options this year. The new S Pen comes with the usual features and some AI-focused tools.

Speaking of cameras, the Ultra model has a 200-megapixel wide sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor that supports 5x optical zoom, OIS, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The big phone has a 5000mAh battery, but you still have the same 45W wired charging support on this device.
