But what if you could isolate a subject in a photo in seconds on an iPhone? Sounds too good to be true, but for a change it is. Here’s how this trick works and what you can do with an isolated subject.
But before we start, there is one condition you should keep in mind: you must have an iPhone running iOS 16 or later, as it includes it by default.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s see how to isolate the subject from the background:
- First, open the Photos app and open a photo with a visible subject – it could be your pet or a photo of you.
- Next, all you have to do is tap and hold the target until it starts to glow around the edges and rise a bit.
- When this happens, you can let go and three options will appear: Copy, Share, and Add Sticker.
- Now tap on Share and select Save Image.
- That’s it! Your isolated image should now be saved as a separate file in your iOS image gallery.
It should be noted that iPadOS and macOS also support the same functions. So you can do the same on your iPad or Mac.
You can then copy the object directly into creative applications such as Procreate, or simply save the PNG file as is.
