OnePlus Pad Go Could Be The Budget-Friendly Android Tablet Aimed at the Masses
OnePlus already has an Android tablet on the market in the form of the OnePlus Pad, but soon we will get an affordable tablet from the company. The device has not officially hit the web, but the product name has been spotted on India’s BIS website, suggesting that a launch is not far off.
The tablet segment is getting a new boost as Google looks to fix Android and make it compatible with large-screen devices like foldables and tablets. However, it is vital for OnePlus that the brand also has an affordable tablet on the market, especially if there are more buyers. Brands like Xiaomi and Realme already have a version of the Go and Air or SE tablets, so it makes sense for the OnePlus Pad to have a Go version in the market.
Interestingly, the tipster’s information about the OnePlus Pad Go suggests that the tablet will get cellular connectivity, something we haven’t seen on most tablets in this range, even though some of them will be powered by a 5G chip. Reports suggest that the Go version will have updates on the OnePlus Pad, but we’re not sure if that’s the way to go since most Go models have been below the premium version.
The OnePlus Pad was launched earlier this year for around Rs 37,999 and packs features and hardware that make it a powerful option in this segment.
The OnePlus Pad Go is likely to have some upgrades, but in order to control the pricing, it is important that the company reduces the hardware. That being said, OnePlus has a Nord series in the budget range, and it’s possible that a OnePlus Nord tablet might make its way in the near future. OnePlus has seen the Nord range grow and expand with new categories, and the tablet feels like the right way forward.
