Oppo to unveil new AR glasses on November 17
Oppo is preparing for its “Inno Day” on November 17th. Ahead of the tech-focused conference, Oppo released a teaser for new AR glasses. The laptop is said to be light and comfortable to put on.
The AR glasses are also seen with two cameras, each placed on the corners of the two frames. According to Gizmchina, one of the two cameras will be used for AR detection.
The company announced plans to invest in smart glasses and showcased an AR glass concept. The original AR glasses came with up to four lenses, including a ToF sensor for measuring distance. The RGB lens made it possible to photograph the shapes of objects. Two other lenses (fisheye) were used for mapping. Oppo then promised to launch the device in 2020.
According to reports, Oppo’s new AR scopes will feature a set of sensors, including one to measure depth. It will also be equipped with space MIC networks. Other key features expected from the laptop are 3D surround sound, microphone, physical buttons for navigation, gesture and voice support, and optical waveguide technology.
That said, Oppo has confirmed that it will showcase three new “innovative concept products on its Inno Day.”
Last year, OPPO came up with the idea of smart connectivity. This year the concept is updated as the Internet of Experience. OPPO believes that smart connectivity is only the foundation, while the Internet of experience – the convergence of things beyond simple connections – will be the future, the company said in its statement.
Reports suggest that Oppo will introduce the flagship Reno 5 smartphone series and a new foldable smartphone that could also accommodate a selfie camera under the display. Ultra-fast 125W wired charging and 65W wireless charging technology are also expected at the conference. Oppo would also unveil 100x digital zoom, 10x optical zoom and continuous optical zoom camera technologies.
