Phone Contacts Disappeared for Google Pixel and Samsung Users
Numerous users of Google Pixel and Samsung devices have reported an issue with accessing their phone contacts. According to recent reports, individuals were surprised to find that their contacts were not visible on the Google Contacts app.
Some of them tried to restore contacts manually or even re-sync them from their Gmail account to the device, but most of them did not get a positive result. Understandably, the affected users decided to contact Google hoping for a solution, since the Contacts application is developed by the company.
The fact that only Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phone users faced this issue means that the default contacts app is faulty, and thankfully Google was quick to spot the issue and provide a solution.
According to a quote from Google here, the issue was with Android’s Google Contacts app, which had a bug that resulted in contacts not showing up on the phone for some users and even on the web. Google claims the issue was related to “data usage” and assured that the bug did not affect actual contact information.
Google has been rolling out new beta updates and QPR updates for Android 13 in recent weeks, and the pace of rollout may have affected one of these preloaded apps.
Google uses the Android interface with the Contacts app, which stores all the phone numbers, names, and email addresses of their friends, colleagues, and others, which is basically all the information you need to connect with people. We hope that the bug is no longer an issue and other Android devices will not face it in the near future.
