Price of Samsung’s 49-inch Curved OLED Gaming Monitor Revealed
Samsung has been heavily investing in curved monitors and has recently introduced the Odyssey OLED G9. This massive 49-inch display has a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1800R curve. Although the company initially unveiled the monitor at CES earlier this year, it is now available for pre-order with an added incentive from Samsung.
The giant OLED panel costs $2,200, but the company is giving away a $250 Samsung gift card to all pre-orders. This gift card can be used for any Samsung product or service, and you have a lot to choose from. That sort of brings the price down to a more palatable $1,950.
For the price, you get a lot of display. The Odyssey OLED G9 offers dual-quad high definition (5120 x 1440), a steep 1800R curvature and the aforementioned 32:9 aspect ratio. It has a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time, which makes gaming smooth. The panel has more than 8 million self-illuminating pixels and an “almost infinite” color contrast ratio.
The display features built-in speakers, exterior lighting for gaming, premium metal construction, and access to Samsung’s Gaming Hub app and a variety of smart TV apps. Port options abound, including HDMI 2.1, Micro HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and more. As mentioned earlier, pre-orders start today with a starting price of $2,200.
