YouTube has added new features for Shorts on mobile which has made it a popular rival to Instagram's Reels and TikTok.News

Q&A Stickers Now Available on YouTube Shorts for Mobile

YouTube has started testing Q&A stickers for Shorts for mobile devices.

“To make it even easier for Shorts creators to build communities with their audiences, we’re experimenting with stickers that allow creators to ask questions of their viewers,” the company said on its “YouTube Test Features and Experiments” page.

Author questions can be edited, and viewers can respond to comments. “Audience responses will be visible to other viewers who will see them when reading comments posted on Shorts where the sticker was used,” the platform said.

This feature is currently available to a small number of content creators.

While viewers can see stickers on all devices, they can’t tap stickers on desktop or TV.

The company had announced this feature for YouTube Shorts earlier this month and announced that it will roll out the feature soon.

At the same time, the video-sharing platform has announced that it is testing a new, automated way to identify key concepts covered in academic learning videos and bring more information about these concepts in the form of images and short text snippets in real time – right on the video’s viewing page.

“Creators can disable key concepts at the video level in YouTube Studio (on desktop, choose Content > Details [for a specific video] > Select Show more > Uncheck Allow automatic concepts),” the company said.

For now, this is being tested with a small series of English-language videos related to subjects taught in schools. “The trial will only be conducted on a mobile device for a limited number of people watching YouTube,” it added.
