Realme Chief officially teases foldable and flip smartphones
Realme officially tests the foldable products and Madhav Sheth, VP, Realme takes feedback from users on site. Through this tweet, he reached out to his millions of followers and asked them if they would like Realme to launch a flip or foldable device.
What do you want next… #realmeFlip or #realmeFold?— Madhav Sheth (@MadhavSheth1) March 9, 2023
He has even confirmed the names of the models, which will unexpectedly be named Realme Flip and Realme Fold for the standard folding model.
Realme is one of the remaining brands to enter the space or talk about their plans. OnePlus and Oppo have already experimented with their own foldable products, and it was obvious that Realme would be the next to enter the space. It is interesting that Realme is still considering whether to include a flip or a foldable phone.
Most brands in this segment have either released both form factors (Oppo and Samsung) or at least introduced a Fold version (like Xiaomi). Motorola is the exception in this case, launching only the Razr flip phone and moving on to other concept models, such as rolling screens for phones.
Oppo has recently launched the Find N2 Flip in India and other markets. The company will share the Find N2 Flip India price next week, giving us an idea of its potential competition, which will definitely include the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Realme is likely to focus on the lower price range with foldable parts, and it makes sense to focus on the flip model first and then get the folding model for buyers. This month’s Mobile World Congress 2023 has shown us that more brands are ready to enter the foldable arena, and that’s exciting for consumers.
