Reddit releases video, reading feed and adds new features: All the details here
American social discussion forum Reddit has introduced several new features, including sharing text and video messages on its platform. Reddit video content is pulled into the Watch feed view, while text content appears in the Read feed.
Product improvements to be released later this year will make it easier and more efficient for users to find, join and contribute to communities by posting, voting and commenting, Reddit said in a blog post.
The company announced the new feature on Tuesday, mentioning that video content on the platform will be pulled into the “View Feed” view, while text content will appear in “Read Feed.”
“With an inspiring and enduring mission to bring community, belonging and empowerment to the world, we’re doubling down on simplifying Reddit — with user satisfaction and international growth a priority. That means making Reddit easier for everyone,” said Pali Bhat, Reddit’s Chief Product Officer.
“By focusing on Reddit’s core principles, new and existing users coming to Reddit will have better experiences and options to discover new and interesting content and communities in clean spaces,” Bhat added.
In addition, the company has introduced a “fuzzy user interface” that makes it easier for people to find relevant content and participate in communities faster.
Reddit wrote in its official blog post that it also plans to release updates to its video player to allow users to “easily engage in conversations while watching.”
“We’ll soon be introducing an updated online platform that provides fast and reliable experiences for everyone worldwide, new updates to our video player so redditors can easily join conversations while watching, chat improvements, new facade updates, and more.”
