Over the past few years, Google has been focused on assisting users in growing their businesses, improving communication, and fostering collaboration on its Drive platform. Document scanner in Google Drive
The Android version of Google Drive is getting another update in the form of a redesigned document scanner. According to a report by 9to5Google, this new tool was found in Google Drive for Android version 2.23.457.1. It brings a new camera interface that says Google Drive. In addition, Google also introduces two new recording modes – automatic capture and manual. Although the Auto Capture mode automatically captures a snapshot if the document is aligned in the frame, you can also capture it manually through the latter.
A new Preview interface has also been added with options such as Crop and Rotate, Filter, Retake and Delete. It also allows you to add pages and save them to Drive.
The app’s home feed has also been redesigned, now featuring a new ‘Suggested’ tab for a simplified view, while the Workspaces tab has been replaced with a ‘Star’. The notifications in the Android version of Google Drive have also been replaced with “Action” text. Finally, the Google Drive for Android file name now appears at the top instead of the bottom.
Google’s Material You theme
Google has implemented the Material You theme in its products, such as Google Chrome. To celebrate the web browser’s 15th anniversary, the tech giant introduced more rounded corners, updated icons and removed the lock icon from the address bar. It also officially unveiled a redesigned Chrome Web Store based on the same Material You theme. Although it was available in preview for the past few weeks, it is now available to everyone.
