The Oral-B iO Series 7 smart electric toothbrush is currently priced at $149 on Amazon, marking a $71 discount. This matches the lowest price it reached during last year’s shopping holidays. This deal is part of a larger sale where Oral-B toothbrushes are discounted by up to 55 percent. We selected the iO Series 7 as our top choice in the smart toothbrush category due to its combination of features and affordability, especially when purchased at its current discounted price.

We tested a handful of smart electric toothbrushes (in this case, “smart” means connected to an app) and ended up liking this one the best. It has a black and white LED display that tells you useful information such as status, battery life and how much time is left on the two-minute timer. The vibrating head is powerful, but not lip-numbing like other models we’ve tried, and the illuminated ring helpfully indicates whether or not you’re pressing too hard.

If you want to brush while looking at your phone, you can watch an animated replay of your teeth slowly changing from blue to white as the internal sensors track your brush’s position and movement. It’s a bit of a surreal experience, but I noticed that my teeth felt cleaner after using this than with a regular brush.

This set comes with a replacement head, a travel case and a charging dock that you should only use a couple of times a month. If you want something even nicer, the Oral-B iO Series 9 is also on sale. The series numbering refers to the level of features, not the novelty of the brush, so the Series 9 has extra brush spaces, a color LED display and a charging case – all that the Series 7 lacks. However, in my testing, I didn’t find these benefits to be worth the extra $100.
