Salary Details of Google Engineers Leaked – Highest Base Salary Reported at Rs. 2.29 Crores
According to a recent leak, confidential data on Google employee salaries has revealed that the company is among the top-paying tech firms. Business Insider reports that the median total compensation for Google employees in 2022 was $279,802, equivalent to around ₹2.29 crore in India.
Top earning positions on Google
The leaked information comes from an internal spreadsheet circulated among Google employees that reveals the company’s salary scales for various positions. In particular, software engineers emerged as Google’s top earners, with a base salary of $718,000 in 2022. The database included data from more than 12,000 employees across the United States, covering positions such as software engineers, business analysts, and salespeople. . The leaked data showed that Google’s 10 highest-paid engineering, business and sales jobs earned six-figure base salaries.
Stock options and bonuses
Google’s compensation structure is distinguished by the inclusion of stock options and bonuses outside of base salaries. For example, software engineers had the potential to earn up to $1.5 million in equity in 2022.
Among the top 10 basic salaries at Google in 2022 were Software Engineer who topped the list with a salary of ₹ 2.29 crore, followed by Engineering Manager (₹ 3.28 crore), Enterprise Direct Sales (₹ 3.09 crore), Legal Officer (₹ 2.62 crore) , Sales Strategy (₹2.62) and UX Design (₹2.58). The list also included posts such as Government Affairs & Public Policy (₹2.56), Researcher (₹2.53), Cloud Sales (₹2.47) and Program Manager (₹2.46).
It’s important to note, however, that the leaked data only applies to full-time employees in the United States and does not include salaries at Alphabet’s other companies.
