Samsung begins rolling out February Android security patch for Galaxy S20 FE
Samsung is rolling out the latest software update to its smartphones. The Galaxy S20 FE has now reportedly received the February 2021 Android security patch. This update comes shortly after the smartphone received the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11.
The February 2021 Android security patch for the Galaxy S20 FE is available with firmware version G780FXXS2BUA5, according to a report from SamMobile. It has not been specified which regions receive the update, but Galaxy S20 FE users can check the same by going to Settings> System Updates> Check for System Updates. If there is an update, they can just download and install it.
The report adds that the February Android security patch comes with a fix for some “man-in-the-middle attack vulnerabilities that Google’s operating system has accumulated lately.”
The Galaxy S20 FE is one of the few Samsung phones to receive this update. Samsung has already rolled out this update in the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S20 series, and surprisingly the Galaxy A8 launched in 2018.
With the Galaxy S20 FE, Samsung also tried to fix the smartphone’s touchscreen issues. It rolled out the fourth update last month that improves the stability of its touchscreen. This update also contained the January 2021 Android security patch.
Galaxy S20 FE users started complaining about touchscreen issues shortly after the phone launched last year. Users have encountered issues like recorded ghost keys and stuttering when scrolling or zooming in the user interface. This is Samsung’s fourth attempt, although some users suspect that it is a hardware issue and not something that a software update can fix.
