The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 in May will have a larger external display; This is what it might look like
Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy Z smartphones are still months away, but a leaked image of the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s exterior display has surfaced, giving us a glimpse of what the phone might look like.
SamMobile and Max J, a noted leaker, have collaborated to release an image that showcases the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display. According to Max, the image is a concept, but based on his knowledge of the Flip 5’s actual appearance. It’s important to note that the final product may differ from this rendering, so it’s best to approach this image with caution until more concrete information emerges.
The image suggests that the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 may be significantly larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which measures just 1.9 inches. The Flip 5’s exterior display is expected to be 3.4 inches, with a side cutout for the dual camera. In comparison, the recently launched Oppo Find N2 Flip has a 3.26-inch display. A larger display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 would help Samsung stay competitive and compete with rivals that have emerged since the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Samsung seems to be following a two-year pattern of making major design updates to its foldable devices. The original Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 2 had similar looks, and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 adopted the revised design originally introduced with the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Therefore, it is possible that Samsung might introduce a new design in the upcoming version. Galaxy Z Flip, which is expected to be released in August this year.
In terms of functionality, Samsung might take inspiration from Oppo and offer a wide customizable outdoor display that takes advantage of the larger screen. Although little information is available on the specifications, the Z Flip 5 could potentially feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or an upgraded version if Qualcomm releases it in time.
