Say Goodbye to Google Calendar on This Android Version!
Google Calendar is an integral part of many people’s workflow. Not only do people rely on it to schedule important meetings, but it also serves as Google’s core service on Android.
But if you are still using a device running Android 7.1, then unfortunately you have some bad news as Google may officially end support for the same version 2023.46.0-581792699.
However, it is worth noting that Google has yet to make any official announcements. Still, X user AssembleDebug found this information on TheSpAndroid. According to the user, Google Calendar now has a flag in Google Calendar that says “UnsupportedOperatingSystem__enabled”. This means that users with Android 7.1 or older will not be able to use Google Calendar in the future.

With that in mind, Google’s Android Nougat 7.1 is already quite old, having been released in 2016. If you’re still using the same phone, it’s likely that your device’s OEM has already stopped supporting it.
According to the report, users will now need to have at least Android 8.0 Oreo to use Google Calendar. This is most likely due to security issues that affect older versions of Android, and the issue can be resolved by using a newer version of Android that is free of vulnerabilities.
In related news, Google also dropped Nougat with Chrome 119 support. This means that you cannot use Google Chrome Android version 120. So if you want to use the latest and most secure apps, you need to update to the new Android. or make sure you update your device to the latest version of Android available, which must be at least Android 8.0 or higher.
