Secure Your Browsing: Indian Govt Warns Firefox Users of Major Security Risk
More security warning for Indian users from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) this week, and this time it’s related to Mozilla’s Firefox browser.
The security agency has recently been proactive with several warnings to Indian users and once again it warns them of a security issue that could leave them vulnerable if hackers are able to bypass their device’s security and gain access to confidential information.
You can go to the CERT-In website for the latest security bulletin detailing the issue in Firefox and how it can be used to steal data from affected users. The biggest concern with this alert is that Firefox has not one, but several security issues that could make it easier to compromise your device.
All of these things clearly indicate that unauthorized access is achievable, which is never a good sign. But which versions of Firefox are affected by the security issue and which platforms are at risk? The National Security Agency says that users are affected by these Firefox versions:
– Firefox ESR versions before 115.5.0
– Firefox iOS versions before 120
– Mozilla Thunderbird version before 115.5
How to protect your device from Firefox security issue
Now that CERT-In has raised a warning about Firefox’s security issues, it has shared a list of things that can help users protect their browsers and devices from potential threats.
