Twitter offers 50% fewer ads and improves visibility for Blue subscribers

To attract users, Elon Musk-led Twitter will now show at least 50 percent fewer ads to Blue subscribers and increase their visibility on the platform.

The microblogging platform has implemented a new tool in both the For You and Followed tabs.

“As you scroll, you’ll see approximately twice as many organic or non-promoted tweets between promoted tweets or ads. There may be times when there may be more or less non-promoted tweets between promoted tweets,” according to the company.

However, the feature does not apply to ads that appear in profile replies, promoted accounts and trends, and promoted events on the Explore page.

The company has also prioritized rankings in chats and searches for Blue users, which cost $8 a month.

Meanwhile, Twitter’s blue checkmarks are still there for old verified accounts.

The new verified passphrase for old Blue users now reads: “This account has been verified because it is subscribed to Twitter Blue or is an old verified account”.

According to Twitter’s CEO, “We are adding a verification date to the profile. Please note that only the date after the paid verification is counted because there was so much corruption in the past with the old checkmarks.”

According to Musk, only verified accounts will be allowed to appear in For You recommendations from April 15.

“Starting April 15th, only verified accounts can be part of your recommendations. This is the only realistic way to combat advanced AI bot swarms. Otherwise, it’s a hopeless losing battle. He said last week that voting in elections requires verification for the same reason.

“That said, it’s OK to have verified bot accounts as long as they follow the terms of use and don’t impersonate people,” Musk added.
