OpenAI recently announced that it will expand the voice chat feature in its official ChatGPT app for iPhone and iPad to all users. The feature is now available for free, so no subscription is required.
“ChatGPT with voice is now available to all free users. Download the app to your phone and tap the headset icon to start a conversation,” the company wrote on the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Previously only available to Plus and Enterprise subscribers, the voice chat feature is now available to all users, allowing them to interact with the chatbot through natural conversation rather than just text input.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to using ChatGPT’s voice chat feature for free on iPhone:
– Download ChatGPT app from App Store, tap “Apply” to download and install.
– Create an account or sign in: Open the app, sign in if you have an account, or get a new one.
– Now open the app, tap on the three dots icon, go to Settings and switch “Voice Chats” to “New Features”.
– Start a voice chat: return to the main chat, tap the microphone icon to start a voice chat with ChatGPT.
– Speak your question or request and ChatGPT will respond by voice.
