VPN access expands to all Google One members: full details
Tech giant Google has announced that it will extend its VPN access to all Google One members, including members with a basic plan that starts at $1.99 per month.
The VPN is currently rolling out and will be available in 22 countries on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac devices, the tech giant said in a blog post on Wednesday.
“Google One’s VPN adds security to your internet activity, no matter what apps or browsers you use, and protects it from hackers or network operators by masking your IP address.”
Without a VPN, websites and apps that users visit may use their IP address to track their activity or find their location.
Google One’s VPN was previously limited to packages of 2 TB and larger.
The company also introduced a “dark web report” feature for US users to better monitor their personal data.
Google One’s Dark Web Report helps users search the dark web for their personal information—names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers—and notifies them if it’s found.
“Dark web reporting will begin in the coming weeks for all Google One plan members in the US,” the tech giant said.
