Do you want to verify a Facebook or Instagram account? Here’s how much it can cost in India
The Meta Verified subscription is slowly making its way to the Indian market and the company is offering people a chance to waitlist before the service is officially launched in the country. Meta Verified allows people to verify their Facebook or Instagram accounts, but they have to pay a monthly fee to enjoy benefits like Twitter Blue.
Meta Verified debuted in select markets last month, and in a month Meta will bring the service to India, albeit with a wait list. Meta Verified subscribers have to pay a monthly fee of Rs 1,099 online and Rs 1,499 if you subscribe to the Android and iOS mobile app. Meta Verified offers benefits such as:
– Enhanced verification to prove real account
– Proactive protection to avoid scammers
– Personal support for all problems
– Increase the coverage of your subscribed account
– Other unique benefits
The price for mobile users is higher, which may offset the 15-30 percent fees Apple and Google charge for app stores.
Facebook and Instagram have become big products for Meta, and the company believes that a subscription model could help them generate more revenue from the platforms. Interestingly, the Meta Verified subscription only works on one platform. So if you need verification on both Facebook and Instagram, the monthly subscription price doubles.
Compared to Meta, Twitter charges Rs 900 for mobile users and Rs 650 per month if you subscribe through the web app. In addition to paying a fee, users must be at least 18 years old, provide the company with a picture of their ID, meet minimum operational requirements and also have two-factor authentication.
After verification, users cannot change their username, profile name, date of birth, or photo unless they verify again.
