“X Unleashes Grok: Their AI Chatbot to Take on ChatGPT and Google Bard!”
2023 has been a significant year for generative artificial intelligence. Not only have we seen platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Meta Llama 2 mature, but generative AI has also penetrated the mainstream, reaching consumer-grade products like the Google Pixel 8 series. Now X’s (formerly Twitter) AI division XAI has launched its own generative AI chatbot called Grok, based on Grok-1, an LLM owned by X that was developed over the past four months. Grok has several differences compared to popular chatbots such as Google Bard and ChatGPT.
Announcing the same, X said: “Grok is based on the ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, which aims to answer almost anything and, more challengingly, even suggest what questions to ask!”
The striking difference is that Grok responds to user queries with wit and humor, with a “rebellious streak” like X. It’s also claimed that Grok handles “spicy questions” that other models tend to avoid. While we’re not entirely sure what X means by “spicy,” it can be interpreted as trying to answer more controversial questions compared to models like GPT-4 or Google PaLM.
In addition, Grok can also go through X (Twitter) and use the platform’s real-time information to respond accordingly. However, the chatbot is currently in early beta and is not yet a final product.
“We want Grok to act as a powerful research assistant for anyone, helping them quickly access relevant information, process data, and generate new ideas,” says X. Furthermore, the company’s goal is to create AI tools that are useful for people of all backgrounds. political views.
If you want to use the chatbot, there is currently a waiting list and it is only available for X Premium/verified users and when we tried to register for the same, the website said that the tool is not available in our location, which is India yet.
