Tom Hanks Alerts Fans: Stay Away from His “AI Version” Advertising Dental Plan
Tom Hanks, a seasoned Hollywood actor, has cautioned his supporters regarding a dental plan commercial that features an “AI rendition” of himself.
Hanks took to Instagram over the weekend to inform his followers that he has nothing to do with the promotional video.
“Watch out! There’s a video promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me. I have nothing to do with it,” the 67-year-old wrote alongside a screenshot of a computer-generated image of himself from the video. .
Hanks has previously talked about the use of artificial intelligence and deepfake technology in the creative fields on an episode of “The Adam Buxton Podcast.”
“The bus might stop me tomorrow and that’s it, but the shows can go on and on and on. And beyond realizing it’s done by AI or deepfake, there’s nothing to tell you that it’s not me and me alone. And it will have some live quality. It’s certainly an artistic challenge, but it’s also a legal one, he said.
