WhatsApp Introduces Pinned Messages and Updated Attachment Menu

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform owned by Meta, is set to roll out a Pinned Messages feature and a redesigned chat attachment menu for users. Soon, users will be able to highlight a message by pinning it to the top of their chat conversations, making it easier for other people to access important or frequently referenced messages.

“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.4 update available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is releasing these features to a limited set of beta testers,” WABetaInfo reported.

According to the report, the new pin feature may appear in the message settings after installing the app’s latest update. This option allows users to pin a message to the beginning of a conversation, making it easier for users to highlight and access important or frequently referenced messages quickly.

“In addition, some beta testers may try the redesigned chat attachment menu with a new modern style. It’s important to note that since these features are currently available to a limited number of beta testers, it may take some time before they become available to a wider audience,” the report states .

The report also suggested that pinning a post will allow users to precisely control how long a post will be prominently displayed in their conversations, as it will be possible to select three different durations – 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.

However, it is also possible to dismiss the current pinned message at any time, even before the selected duration expires. It’s also important to note that pinned posts are also available in individual conversations, making it easier to highlight specific content even in private conversations.
