“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.15 update available from the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is trying to see how many times a channel update has been viewed,” WABetaInfo reported.

According to the report, impressions of a particular channel update will appear in a message bubble in a future update of the app. This feature helps the channel owner not only determine how many users viewed the update, but also make informed estimates of the number of people who have notifications enabled on their channel and are seeing their content.

“We believe that introducing a feature that allows users to see how many times a channel update has been viewed can provide several benefits,” WABetaInfo stated.
