Share Your Most Intimate Moments with Your ‘Close Friends’ on Instagram!
Instagram has offered the ability to share stories and notes with “Close Friends” for quite some time. If you’re not aware of the feature, it’s basically a way to only share certain stories with the people you choose. this means that people outside of this list can’t see your stories.
Now, Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Meta broadcast channel that “Close Friends” is expanding into feed and reels. This means you can post more types of content in a smaller group.
In particular, the “Close Friends” feature was first introduced in 2018 as a way to share your stories only with a close group of people to maintain privacy. Instagram users can now do the same with their feed posts and reels. This allows users to freely share certain posts and reels that they might normally avoid posting publicly.
If you think about it, being able to only send messages to a certain group of people helps users limit their reach to only a certain kind of private community. This can create a more private user experience for Instagram users without making their account “private”. Not all Followers and people visiting the page will see these specific posts.
How to share a message or reel only with close friends?
If you want to share a particular message with only your close friends, go to the Audience option available when you are about to share the message. Open the Audience section, then select Close Friends. There’s also an option to share with everyone, but that’s not new. Now, when you share media this way, a green star will appear on the message, indicating that it’s intended for your close friends.
