Log In To WhatsApp With Your Email – iPhone Users Rejoice!
WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform owned by Meta, is now widely rolling out a feature that allows iOS users to associate an email address with their accounts.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned app is now rolling out an additional access method to the platform that will allow iPhone users to log into their account in situations where they may have temporary difficulty receiving the 6-digit code via text message.
“Over the past few hours, WhatsApp has released update 23.24.70 for iOS on the App Store. Currently, the official changelog does not provide any useful information about what new features are available in this version. However, we just noticed that WhatsApp is widely implementing this feature,” WABetaInfo reported .
The official changelog further mentions that a bug that caused apps to slow down for some users has been fixed, although the nature of the bug is currently unknown. Although not mentioned in the official App Store changelog, it has been confirmed that WhatsApp is rolling out an option to link your email address to your WhatsApp account.
Just open WhatsApp Settings > Account to try this feature today. This is an alternative sign-in method in case users temporarily do not receive the 6-digit code via text message, but still need to use a phone number to create an account, and phone number sign-in is still an option.
If you don’t already have this feature, it may be rolled out to accounts in the next few weeks, although it’s not mentioned in the official changelog. To stay up-to-date, check the App Store or the TestFlight app regularly for WhatsApp updates.
Additionally, some users may notice a redesigned interface with a new green color that was introduced with the WhatsApp for iOS 23.21.72 update. Keep an eye out for these changes after installing the update.
