Say Goodbye to Network Issues – WhatsApp Email Verification Here to Help!
WhatsApp has been implementing a range of safety measures to ensure the security of its users. In recent times, the app has introduced features like Chat Lock, Account Protect, and Device Verification. Currently, the platform is striving to enhance its security measures by introducing email address verification. Previously, verification was solely reliant on SMS, but now users will have the option to verify their email addresses as well. Discover how the email address verification feature will operate on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp email address verification
According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp will allow users to verify their email address with their WhatsApp account. This new feature allows users to receive a 6-digit verification code to their associated email address. The new verification feature is being introduced so that people can easily log into their WhatsApp accounts when they face mobile network issues and cannot receive the code via SMS.
WhatsApp has already released the feature for iOS users in the update 23.24.70. iPhone users can download the update from the App Store for added security. If you also want to add your email address to WhatsApp, open WhatsApp on your phone and go to your profile, there you will find “Account Menu” and then just select Email address to authenticate. Please note that WhatsApp email verification is only an alternative method of logging into your account when you do not receive a 6-digit verification code via SMS.
WhatsApp is also rolling out this feature widely, so if you don’t see email address verification, you might want to wait a few weeks until the rollout is active for everyone. Moreover, the feature is already available for iPhone users and they can download the latest update from the App Store.
Additionally, 9To5Google also reports that WhatsApp is working on bringing usernames to WhatsApp users so they don’t have to share their phone number. However, this feature has not yet been released.
