Invite Admins to Your WhatsApp Channel – Now Easier Than Ever!
WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app owned by Meta, is reportedly rolling out a new feature that will soon allow channel owners to invite new admins. The feature that allows channel owners to invite new admins is available to some beta testers who install WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned app developed a feature that allows channel owners to add new admins to their channels. This enhancement is designed to give channel owners advanced administrative control and enhanced delegation capabilities.
“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.25.10.70 update available on TestFlight, we noticed that WhatsApp is now enabling the ability to invite new admins to some beta testers’ channels,” the report said.
A screenshot shared in the report revealed that some beta testers can try the new “Invite Admins” feature on the channel info screen, which allows channel owners to assign admin rights to selected contacts for their channel and invite up to 15 people. contact information.
According to the report, the designated contact must accept the invitation before they can gain administrative access. Once the invitation is accepted, they can edit important channel information such as name, icon, and description. In addition, channel administrators can edit channel settings and determine which emojis are allowed in reactions within the channel.
It suggested that the update will not only cover administrative tasks but will also allow administrators to actively participate in creating content for the channel.
Admins can create and share content while controlling updates, whether their own or shared by other admins, by editing or deleting. It is worth noting some limitations, such as the inability to add or remove other administrators and the limitation of deleting the entire channel.
“We believe that these adjustments will definitely ensure a balanced approach by facilitating channel co-management while maintaining essential channel safeguards,” WABetaInfo said.
