Meta rolls out paid subscription plan for Facebook and Instagram in the US, offering 'blue tick' verification, better protection, and customer support.News

The Meta Verified Paid Subscription Plan is coming to Facebook and Instagram in the US

Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the company will roll out its paid Facebook and Instagram subscription plans for US users.

First launched in Australia and New Zealand, the “Meta Verified” plan offers enhanced etiquette, better protection against impersonation and direct access to customer support, reports The Verge.

The subscription plan costs $11.99 per month online and $14.99 per month mobile.

However, the US version of Meta Verified does not provide users with greater visibility and accessibility benefits than those in Australia and New Zealand.

Users can join the subscription plan waiting list at https://meta.com/verified.

In addition to paying a fee, users must be at least 18 years old, provide the company with a picture of their ID, meet minimum operational requirements and also have two-factor authentication.

According to the report, users will not be able to change their username, profile name, date of birth or photo unless they re-authenticate.

Last month, inspired by Elon Musk’s Twitter, Meta announced that it was testing paid verification on Instagram and Facebook.

The company later introduced a paid subscription plan for users in Australia and New Zealand.
