OnePlus Open foldable phone receives a $200 price cut on Amazon.
The newly launched OnePlus Open foldable smartphone is now being sold at a reduced price. Amazon has reduced the cost by $200, making the device available for $1,500. This discount amounts to a 12 percent savings, which might be the push you need to make the purchase if you are interested in a top-of-the-line foldable phone.
$1500 is still a lot of cheddar, but this is a lot of phone. The OnePlus Open comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. This particular model is unlocked, so you are not tied to any particular provider. It also has a great Hasselblad camera and a pair of 120Hz displays. The outer screen is 6.3 inches, while the foldable inner screen is 7.8 inches. That’s a lot of visual real estate and one of the main reasons why this model made our list of the best foldable phones.
In the official OnePlus Open review, we praised the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, large battery, and comprehensive Open Canvas software that enables tile-based multitasking. We also liked the slim form factor and relative lightness compared to competing flagship phones. The folding hinge is solidly built and barely noticeable unless you’re looking for it.
This is not a perfect phone. It’s slightly cheaper than other foldables like the Google Pixel Fold, but it doesn’t have a wireless charging option, which is an omission for devices launching in 2023. Additionally, you only get an IPX4 water resistance rating, which is a far cry from the IP68 rating on the aforementioned Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Despite these caveats, this is a great foldable for the money.
