Price, Features of Tablet with Kindle-Like e-Ink Display and Stylus Support Launched in India

The Kindle pretty much ushered in the culture of e-ink displays, but it’s not the only product that uses a power-saving panel. We’ve seen other brands use the technology in their devices and the latest is a tablet that also supports a pen and keyboard stand.

The ReMarkable brand e-ink tablet has launched in India and will be available later this month. The device runs on a Linux-based platform, which means you get app support and easy synchronization with Windows, iOS, and Android devices.

The ReMarkable tablet with an e-ink display is priced at Rs 43,999 with a stylus in the box. You also get a 1-year trial of its Connect service, which offers unlimited cloud storage, device protection and other offers.

So what exactly does the tablet offer and how does it differ from regular tabs? The tablet has a 10.3-inch screen with an e-ink panel for Kindle e-readers. It’s not intended for watching videos or playing games, which explains the use of a dual-core chipset with 1GB of RAM and only 8GB of internal storage.

Using a Linux-based operating system allows the device to work with this hardware. The pen works without a battery, and you don’t need to pair it either. The tablet lets you connect via Wi-Fi and has a USB-C port for charging the built-in 3,000mAh battery. The most useful feature is that you get left-handed mode, which is rare in most devices.
