CEO Carl Pei Confirms Nothing Phone 2a Will Not Be Manufactured in India Before Launch
Headed by Carl Pei, Nothing will make its India debut in 2022 by launching the Nothing Phone 1. Since then, the company has expanded its product line by announcing various audio devices, introducing a sub-brand called CMF, and introducing a successor to the Phone 1 known as the Nothing Phone 2.
Now, as the brand gears up to launch its latest smartphone, officially called the Nothing Phone 2a, CEO Carl Pei has confirmed that the device will be manufactured in India.
During an interaction on X (formerly Twitter), Pei responded to a user’s query about the phone’s manufacturing location in India and simply stated “yep,” confirming the information.

Nothing has already announced that the Nothing Phone 2a will be officially launched in India on March 5. The device is expected to be competitively priced, lower than the current flagship Phone 2. The company is expected to reveal more details about the device. later today.

Rumors suggest that the device will feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and will be equipped with a dual camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera and a secondary ultra-wide-angle camera. It may be available in two variants: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB.
In terms of design, it is still uncertain whether the phone will retain Nothing’s glyph light UI. Earlier reports this year suggested that the phone would drop this feature, but they turned out to be wrong. However, it remains to be seen which direction Nothing will take its starting “a” device.
