Here’s What We Know About the New Security Alert for Android Users from the Indian Government
The Indian government has issued a new security warning to millions of Android users this week with an Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) bulletin. The team emphasizes that these exploits can allow attackers to obtain sensitive information and execute arbitrary code on your phone.

The new vulnerabilities also affect Android versions 12, 12L, 13 and the latest 14. The number of phones running these versions in India should easily exceed 10 million, which means a high-severity classified alert is worth considering.
CERT-In highlights that there are multiple vulnerabilities in the framework, system, ARM components and MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm close components.
With these many chip makers on the vulnerable list, brands like Samsung, Realme, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Vivo must be concerned about the issue and ensure that they release security patches for these vulnerabilities immediately. The good news is that most phone brands have been notified of these issues and the latest security patch has already been released and all are expected to be ready in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the CERT-In bulletin advises people not to install applications from unknown sources or click on links from unknown senders or mail.
