A man finds a lost Apple Watch in the sea using the Find My feature

Water resistance is one of the most underrated features that makes Apple Watches the most popular wearables along with their advanced fitness tracking. The watches have the ISO 22910:2010 standard since the Apple Watch Series 2, which means they can be used underwater.

Now, a man in Brazil lost his Apple Watch when it fell off his wrist into the sea off the coast of Sao Paulo, but was able to recover it using Apple’s Find My feature.

According to G1, via AppleInsider, Jefferson Rocha lost his Apple Watch but was able to track its location using the internal GPS signal through the Find My app. However, the device stopped reporting its location when the battery ran out. Rocha received a notification when the Apple Watch restarted, and then activated Lost Mode in the Find My app and provided her contact information so someone could reach her.

Finally, a 16-year-old girl messaged him on Instagram to say she found and found the Apple Watch. And according to the report, the watch was found by the girl’s father, who is a diver.

With the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple says, “You can wear it during leisure diving up to 40 meters and other activities such as swimming, showering and water skiing.” And as with the Series 2 and newer, “shallow water swimming, such as swimming in a pool or ocean” should be fine, but “do not use models other than the Apple Watch Ultra for diving, water skiing, or other activities that involve immersion in shallow or fast-moving water. “
