AI Tool Makes YouTube Video Dubbing Simple For Content Creators
A new feature is being introduced by YouTube that will enable content creators to effortlessly translate their videos into different languages with the help of artificial intelligence.
As reported by The Verge , the video giant at VidCon said it will integrate the Aloud team, an AI-powered dubbing tool made at Google’s Area 120 incubator.
YouTube is a very versatile platform that prioritizes content creators. However, not being able to connect with a certain demographic because they can’t speak a certain language can limit a content creator’s reach. This tool can prove to be quite useful for a number of factors.
How does YouTube’s new dubbing tool work?
Voiceover first transcribes the video, after which content producers can review and later edit the transcription. Later, the tool will eventually reverse the edit and create a copy.
Amjad Hanif, YouTube’s head of Creator Products, claims the company is already testing Aloud’s tool with “hundreds” of creators.
More support is expected soon
YouTube notes that the service currently only supports a few languages, but more are on the way.
Currently, the tool only supports English, Spanish and Portuguese.
YouTube is also working to make dubbed videos “sound like the creator’s voice, more facial expressions and lip syncing,” Hanif said.
In related news, OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, may have used YouTube to train its large language models like GPT to produce better responses, according to a report by The Information.
