Meta’s Threads App Reaches 95 Million Posts, Becomes Number One App On Apple App Store
Within 24 hours of its release, Meta’s Threads app has garnered over 95 million posts and received more than 190 million likes from users on both iOS and Android platforms. The app has also claimed the top spot as the most popular free app on the Apple App Store, as per internal data obtained by The Verge.
Meta uses the Instagram user base to quickly bring people onto the platform. In addition to allowing people to easily connect with all their Instagram followers instantly, it has also allowed users to use the same username they use on Instagram and even transfer verification if they are old verified users. or you have subscribed to the Meta Verified service.
“Threads is a new app developed by the Instagram team for sharing text updates and participating in public conversations. You log in with your Instagram account and posts can be up to 500 characters long and contain links, photos and videos up to 5 minutes long,” Meta said in a blog post published on Wednesday.
Threads differ from Twitter in a few ways. First, it doesn’t have hashtags or a trending page. Second, it is not designed for web use, so the full user experience is only available through the official iOS and Android app. Third, unlike Twitter, which has a 25,000 character limit, Threads has a maximum limit of 500 characters per post. However, users can include links, photos and videos in their posts, which can be up to 5 minutes long.
Many users have also brought up several issues, including the inability to delete a Threads profile without deleting the Instagram app and the need to sign up for the app separately without having an Instagram profile.
