Apple Watch Users in India Can Now Access AFib History Feature

Apple India has revealed that the Atrial fibrillation (AFib) History feature is now accessible on the Apple Watch Series 4 and subsequent models for users on watchOS 9. By utilizing the ECG app and irregular rhythm notification, the Apple Watch can detect possible indications of AFib.

AFib is an irregular heart rhythm in which the upper chambers of the heart beat out of sync with the lower chambers.

According to the company, Apple Watch users in the country can now determine AFib history by updating their iPhone to the latest version of iOS and Apple Watch to the latest version of watchOS.

Here’s how to determine a history of AFib

– Update iPhone to the latest iOS version and Apple Watch to the latest watchOS version.

– Open the Health app on your iPhone.

– Tap Browse and then tap Heart.

– Tap on AFib history.

– Tap Configure and then tap Start.

– Enter date of birth.

– Select Yes to indicate that your doctor has diagnosed you with AFib, then tap Continue.

– Tap Continue to learn more about AFib history, outcomes, and life factors.

– Tap Done.

Users can also view their history in more detail in the Health app. On your iPhone, open the Health app. Tap Browse, then tap Heart. Tap AFib history. If users have AFib history saved as favorites, they can also access it from the Summary tab.

The AFib history estimate is shown as a percentage. A lower percentage means your heart was in AFib less often, while a higher percentage means more often. AFib history will never show as 0%. Instead, it shows up as 2 percent or less.

To share AFib history, if a user is set up to share health information in the Health app, family and friends can receive updates on their AFib history. Users can also export their AFib history data to a PDF file for sharing.
