Apple iPad with Foldable Screen May Be Launched Soon
According to recent reports, Apple, the technology giant headquartered in Cupertino, is said to be in the process of creating a foldable iPad, which could potentially be launched soon. This new information aligns with earlier speculations regarding the development of a foldable iPad.
According to a preview of an upcoming report from DigiTimes, Apple plans to bring foldable technology to tablets after working on foldable smartphones for some time. In particular, Apple’s top analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously predicted that the device might be released in 2024.
Other industry experts, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young, had yet to receive any information about such a product at the time, MacRumors reported. According to Kuo, the foldable iPad would have a completely new design and a light and sturdy carbon fiber stand.
According to MacRumors, the foldable iPad, like the foldable smartphones from Samsung and Google, would have a hinge that would allow the device to open and close like a book, which would lead to a significant advantage over current models when opened with a larger screen.
The foldable iPad is expected to be priced higher than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which starts at $1,099. Apple is exploring several options, such as a foldable iPhone, iPad, and Mac for future devices.
In related news, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the lower-end iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models to be released later this year will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera lens with a new stacked sensor design capable of capturing more light.
According to the analyst, Apple solved the new camera sensor’s yield problems by cooperating with supplier Sony, which increased production capacity to meet Apple’s demand. As a result, the supply of Android partners was significantly reduced.
Apple first introduced a 48-megapixel camera lens on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max last year. This lens allows users to shoot 48MP ProRAW photos, providing more detail and flexibility for editing the image file. For comparison, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus of the same year used a 12-megapixel camera lens.
