Lemokey L3: Keychron’s Customizable First Gaming Keyboard
Keychron, a well-known brand in the customizable keyboard industry, has recently entered the gaming market with the launch of its gaming division, Lemokey. Their inaugural product, the L3 keyboard, is currently being crowdfunded. While the L3 boasts features such as a 2.4GHz wireless connection and a highly responsive 1,000Hz polling rate, its main selling point lies in its durable and customizable aluminum body, which is said to withstand the demanding nature of competitive gaming.
You can choose from three different key color schemes, reassign any key, and create macros for both any key command layer and a separate macro column. You can easily remove and replace parts to customize them to your liking. The Lemokey L3 can pair with up to three devices via Bluetooth 5.1, but also has a wired option if low latency is your top priority.
The company currently plans to deliver the Lemokey L3 in October. You’ll need to shell out at least $189 for the barebones kit (no cap or switches), but more realistically you’ll want to commit $209 to the fully assembled version. The project has already reached its funding goal.
The L3 won’t appeal if you like a 60 percent keyboard or are otherwise more interested in space saving than compactness. This may also not appeal to top-level esports players, as they may require a hard link or use a favorite design. However, for many other players, Lemokey’s offering may strike a balance between personalization and performance.
