In order to distinguish between artificial intelligence and humans, Worldcoin has made available a new technology. It’s a shiny ball with cameras to scan the eyeballs. This project is a part of Worldcoin and wants to fix the problem of proof of identity (proof of life) for individuals, especially in the world of cryptocurrencies, where the absence of such information can lead to massive losses.
The Worldcoin ball uses iris scanning technology to verify whether you are a real person or not. The goal of this project is to make the internet safer, where fake accounts can be caught and stopped.
The Worldcoin project was introduced by Tools for Humanity and founded in 2019 by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
According to a report by NPR, Tiago Sada, product manager at Orb developer Tools for Humanity, said: “As AI advances, it will become much harder to distinguish people from robots online, but it will also become much more important to do so,”
Some people are concerned about privacy because eye scanning may not be very safe for your information. But Worldcoin says they don’t store data.
