Netflix Releases Teaser for ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’ to Positive Reception
Netflix has released a teaser for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, an anime adaptation of the popular Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series. The show, consisting of eight episodes, follows the main character as he competes in a battle of the bands contest and confronts his girlfriend’s seven evil exes.
The anime is a sequel to the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, based on the graphic novels. The main characters from Edgar Wright’s film will reprise their roles in the series, including Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Ramona Flowers), Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Chris Evans (Lucas Lee) and Brie Larson (“Envy”). “Adams).
The teaser apes many of the visuals from the film and graphic novels, such as Scott blocking Matthew Patel’s flying attack with his arm and his band’s Sex Bob-Omb rehearsal space. You also see Ramona dragging Scott through space towards a door with a star on it, and the lovebirds sit side by side on a swing. However, I don’t remember seeing dinosaurs in a movie.
Graphic novel series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley is one of the showrunners, while Wright is an executive producer. Abel Gongora from the animation studio Science Saru (Star Wars: Visions, Devilman Crybaby) is the director of the show. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off also features new music from Anamanaguchi, the brilliant chiptune band behind the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World video game soundtrack.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is my favorite movie of the 2010s, and this teaser captures the look and feel of the universe. I’m already counting down the days until Scott Pilgrim Takes Off hits Netflix on November 17th.
