WhatsApp Introducing Poll Sharing Feature For Groups

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform owned by Meta, is reportedly rolling out the ability to share polls in community notification groups. Owned by Meta, the app provides community admins with an additional tool to interact with community members as it can create polls in the community’s message board.

“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.22 update available from the Google Play Store, WhatsApp will enable this feature for some beta testers,” WABetaInfo, a website that follows WhatsApp, reported.

According to the report, the instant messaging app finally introduced a starting point in the chat sharing sheet to create a poll for community notification groups. To find out if this feature is already enabled on your account, all you have to do is open the community notification group you are an admin of and check if the poll icon is available.

It’s important to note that the feature may only appear in community announcement groups of a certain size. This feature may also be limited to community announcement groups with less than 1024 participants. It is recommended to test it in different community announcement groups to ensure it works.

“Mediation allows community administrators to ask questions and involve the community in certain decisions. It is very important to emphasize that this feature is compatible with the phone number privacy option,” the report says.

This means that voting in a poll will never reveal your phone number because it is hidden by default. The ability to share polls in community notification groups is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates to WhatsApp beta for Android, and will be rolling out to even more people in the coming days.

In related news, it is reported that the Meta-owned app will also introduce a feature to create and share artificial intelligence stickers to improve the user experience on the platform.
