Microsoft Announces Release of New Surface Devices in September
Microsoft is holding a media event next month, which is likely to be the platform where the new Surface line of devices will be announced. The company has a solid foothold in the software industry, but its hardware complements the platform and also serves business solutions.
Microsoft will hold the event on September 21st, which will likely be a week after Apple introduces its new iPhones and other products.
Microsoft has not given details about the expected products, but according to annual trends, the company should have, among other things, the new Surface Laptop, Surface Laptop Go and Surface Go.
But the event probably won’t be entirely focused on hardware, now that Microsoft has a range of AI products through Bing and yes, talk about new features in the Windows 11 version with the new update. Microsoft holds its event in New York, where the company confirms new products and announcements.
New iterations of Surface products that could be part of the event include the Surface Pro 10, Surface Laptop Go 3, Surface Laptop 6 and even the Surface Laptop Studio 2. Microsoft continues to use Intel chips in Surface PCs and convertibles, which puts it to the premium class, but slightly below Apple’s M-series silicone in terms of overall performance.
Surface products have the following features, but still you can’t put them in the most popular category for a wider audience, especially in a market like India where the Surface range is priced much higher than most countries due to high import duties and other costs.
Microsoft has kept itself busy in 2023, with AI at the forefront of its strategy. The company has invested billions in OpenAI to get the first rights to ChatGPT and its new features. All these integrations have helped Bing become a force in the search market, while the Edge browser has gained users as it becomes reliable and powerful.
