WhatsApp Introducing Tool To Suggest Relevant Community Groups
WhatsApp update: Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that suggests new community groups. This feature allows anyone to recommend new groups to be added to communities, allowing community members to enrich the community with new groups with similar interests.
“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.15 update from the Google Play Store, some community members may be able to try this feature,” WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, reported.
According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a new section will be available for community admins to list all groups suggested by community members.
To suggest a group, community members just need to open the community screen showing all its groups and they can add a new group using the specified button. These groups must be approved by administrators before being added to the community.
According to the report, this feature is designed to help community administrators improve their groups by allowing community members to work together. When the proposal for a new group is approved, the group is automatically added to the community and its members also become part of the community.
This allows community admins to easily grow their communities with new groups. However, it is important to note that new community members can choose which other community groups they want to join, as this process is not automatic.
The Community Pending Groups feature is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates to WhatsApp beta for Android, and will roll out to even more users in the coming weeks.
The instant messaging app also plans to bring further improvements to the app’s user interface by introducing a clearer settings screen. The Settings tab has been replaced with a new tab called “You” that displays our profile picture and is useful for switching to another account when the multi-account feature is available on iOS.
