Anticipated for 2024: Apple’s Lineup to Include Vision Pro Headset, OLED iPad Pro, and Other New Products
In terms of hardware releases, Apple had a quiet year compared to some of the past few years. We didn’t see the Cupertino-based tech giant release any new iPads this year, and the M3-generation chipsets still haven’t made it to the more affordable MacBook Air lineup. But that doesn’t mean Apple is sitting on its hands in 2024.
In fact, we already have a pretty good idea of some of the more anticipated releases we might see. Here we talk about five new products that Apple might bring to users:
Apple Vision Pro Mixed Reality Headset
Vision Pro headsets were announced in June at Apple’s WWDC 2023 event, and ever since the tech community has been talking about mixed reality and how Apple’s arrival could change the industry. Industry experts have suggested that Vision Pro be launched in January or early February. Apple has already said the headset will cost $3,499, but it will initially only be available in the US.
New iPad Pro with OLED screen
A number of experts, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, have said that there could be an OLED model of the iPad Pro that would be a step up from the LCD and mini-LED panels of the current M2-powered lineup. It’s worth noting that Apple didn’t update any of its iPads in 2023, so it’s definitely time to upgrade. iPad Pro models are also expected to switch to M3 chipsets from the outgoing M2 chipsets.
MacBook Air with M3 chipset
Earlier this year in October, Apple released the M3-powered MacBook Pro lineup, but the MacBook Air was not featured. However, this could change in 2023 when Apple updates its most affordable laptop with the latest M3 chip.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro
In 2023, Apple made a number of changes to the iPhone 15 Pro and the regular iPhone 15 compared to the previous generation. These changes included a move to USB-C, Dynamic Island on the regular iPhone 15 models, and titanium on the iPhone 15 Pro models. In addition, ProRes LOG video was added to the pro models. Next year, Apple may get a larger 6.3-inch OLED panel for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16, and a 6.9-inch panel for the iPhone 16 Plus and Pro. We may also see the new Action Button become a standard feature across the range.
AirPods Max with USB-C
Along with the iPhone 15 series, Apple also released a USB-C version of the popular second-generation AirPods Pro. However, its most expensive pair, the AirPods Max, still come with the old Lightning port. Reports suggest that Apple may move to USB-C next year, bringing it in line with most of its lineup.
