Apple Music’s classic app released on the App Store: What’s new and how to download
Cupertino-based tech giant Apple announced its new Apple Music Classical app, which is available on the App Store and can be downloaded for free. With Apple Music Classical, Apple Music subscribers can easily find any recording from the world’s largest catalog of classical music with a fully optimized search.
Apple Music’s classic app also helps people better understand different music styles easily and provides detailed comparison with various information like biography and more.
“Apple Music Classical is a dedicated app perfect for classical music experts as well as anyone new to classical music, with the world’s largest collection of classical music, the best search and browsing capabilities, and the highest quality sound experience with Spatial Audio and thousands of exclusive recordings. We believe this is the best classical music streaming experience available anywhere, and for us this is just the beginning,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats.
Apple Music Classical also includes thousands of exclusive albums, including recordings by world-renowned orchestras. Apple Music Classical has redesigned search to instantly provide exactly what users are looking for using any combination of keywords, from composer and work to opus number, conductor, artist or instrument, and even the work’s nickname.
According to the company, the Apple Music Classical interface ensures that listeners always know who and what they are hearing, with everything presented at a glance: the title of the work, the orchestra, the conductor, the artists involved and even the year of recording.
And when it comes to curating your personal library, the app lets listeners add more than just albums, songs, playlists, and artists—it also supports uniquely classic categories like works, composers, and recordings. Apple Music Classical’s user interface shows the name, orchestra, conductor, participating artists and year of recording for each piece.
Apple Music Classical includes lossless audio up to 24 bit/192 kHz. In Hi-Res Lossless mode, the sound is so amazingly sharp and clear that every note feels close enough to touch. Apple Music Classical’s editors have created more than 700 playlists to guide listeners through 800 years of music, with more to come
