Apple Watch, MacBook with redesigned form factor for late 2021 launch: Kuo
Apple Watch and next-gen MacBooks will feature a redesigned form factor, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. These products will launch in the second half of 2021, which is in line with Apple’s product timeline.
Kuo hasn’t detailed exactly what the redesign will look like, but it would be a big step for the Apple Watch and MacBook that haven’t seen a new look in years. In addition to a redesigned form factor, the new Apple Watch would also offer “innovative health management features,” according to a 9to5Mac report.
Kuo also said that Apple sees strong demand for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is a better than expected demand for these iPhone 12 models compared to the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12.
Apple’s first silicone Macs were also well received. Regarding the new Apple silicon Macs, Kuo said that they will also be launched with a new form factor design. Kuo also said demand for the new iPad Air was “strong”. He added that the 2021 iPad lineup will feature mini-LED displays and offer 5G connectivity. The new iPads should also be convincing next year with these technologies.
Most Apple products are on an upward trajectory, with the exception of AirPods, as its shipments are lower than initially forecast. Kuo even predicted a 5-10% drop in year-over-year sales for the next six months. He added that the launch of the AirPods 3 has been postponed to April-June from the start of 2021.
