Back and Better Than Ever: WhatsApp’s Essential Feature Returns to Desktop Apps – Here’s What You Need to Know!
WhatsApp is re-introducing the ability to send one-time photos and videos to its desktop apps. This is a popular feature that was removed a year ago.
The release also states that the feature was recently rolled out on WhatsApp Web. This feature provides a better privacy experience for WhatsApp users, especially if they don’t want a specific media file to be saved on someone else’s device. Additionally, this is useful for sharing sensitive media files that should only be viewed once and could end up in the wrong hands if accessed on users’ phones.
Who is it available to?
The Once on Desktop feature will be enabled for some users who install the latest available app update for Windows, macOS and WhatsApp Web. This is expected to happen gradually, so more users can use it in the coming weeks. So, if you don’t have the update available to you, try to update the app and if it still doesn’t work, wait a while until it becomes available for you too.
In related news, WhatsApp is also developing a feature that will show profile information in chats. This profile information is also displayed when the contact is offline, alternating with last seen information, if available.
