ChatGPT-Based AI Technology May Soon Be Used By Spies
ChatGPT is everywhere, and soon spies will have their own version of an AI chatbot courtesy of the Central Intelligence Agency, or CIA. The U.S. National Security Agency is reportedly working on AI technology like ChatGPT to help spies and their agents with better intelligence and intelligence on various matters.
A Bloomberg report claims that the CIA is using publicly available data to train an AI model to help agents obtain credible information and also verify it for them. The CIA is using the Open-Source Enterprise division to develop this artificial intelligence tool, which is likely a chatbot, that will provide answers to any questions CIA personnel may have.
The agency believes that an AI chatbot is the fastest possible tool to deploy and assist agents in the field and more.
Having said that, the CIA has not shared a possible timetable for its availability to CIA personnel, aside from suggestions that it is coming in the near future. In addition to the CIA, the AI tool can be used by a few other intelligence agencies, such as the National Security Agency (NSA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and some military-run agencies.
It is interesting to see a major security agency like the CIA adopting new technology to progress and evolve with the changing times. It’s not like these agencies don’t already have enough knowledge and access to data, but bringing artificial intelligence into the equation is likely to simplify the method used to sift through millions of files, both digital and physical.
But while AI has its benefits, its use and the data acquired through these applications are serious. At this point, the CIA has been silent about which AI model it plans to develop for the chatbot and how it plans to ensure that the data collected through AI is not publicly available.
