Cheque signed by Apple Founder Steve Jobs in 1976 now available for sale at 21 lakh.
It’s no secret that Apple is an iconic company with a rich history, much of which stems from its late founder Steve Jobs. This is why Apple memorabilia has time and again fetched ridiculous amounts of money at various auctions.
This time, the check signed by Steve Jobs has fetched the latest bid of $25,000, which is nearly 21,000 rupees in Indian rupees.
So far there have been 23 bids and the next bid is $27,500. Said check is signed by Steve Jobs in the name of “Apple Computer Company” to RadioShack for $4.01 and is dated July 23, 1976. “On account of Apple Computer Company,” the check reads, followed by Apple’s first official address of “770 Welch Rd ., Ste. 154, Palo Alto.”
This was the same address that Apple used when it continued to operate in Steve Jobs’ family garage. RR Auction further notes that the check is in “very good condition,” meaning the check could fetch even more bids.
This shows the brand value that Apple has been able to create for itself, and this has worked to the extent that people are willing to pay thousands of dollars to get a piece of Apple’s rich history.
In related news, RR Auctions sold an Apple ad written by Steve Jobs for a whopping $1,75,759, or about Rs 1.44 crore. The ad contains information about the Apple-1 computer and its features, as well as additional information that Steve Jobs wanted to include. “Board + manual only, $75. The real deal,” Steve Jobs mentioned in the ad. The advertising draft paper has the signature of Steve Jobs.
